A degree in marketing wasn’t the first choice of Erynn DeRycke ’14 when she arrived at Mount Mercy University, but it eventually provided her with the preparation needed to succeed in her business.
Marketing is where sales, strategy, and communication all converge. Mount Mercy works to produce high-quality graduates, which in marketing is about the soft skills as much as the know-how.
Communication, leadership, problem solving, relationship building, and critical thinking—these are all essential to marketing, but challenging to teach in a classroom or from a textbook. At Mount Mercy, you'll learn these important skills through experience and build your confidence at the same time.
Graduates leave with in-depth knowledge of business fundamentals such as law, management, accounting, and economics—and move into their career with the confidence and skills needed to succeed.
Learn from anywhere with our online (on-demand) classes, where you'll complete coursework each week at a time/place that works best for you.
With 9 start dates year-round and 5- and 10-week block classes, this pathway allows you to effectively balance work, school, and life.

The on-campus modality offers courses in-person at the semester pace.
This is a great option for students wanting a residential, on-campus experience, or who are comfortable commuting to classes during the day.
When we set out to start our business, my marketing degree from Mount Mercy became invaluable. I was able to draw back on lessons in branding, advertising, and even financial statements.
Major elective courses allow students to tailor the program to their individual interests and strengths while focusing on the latest trends in this fast-paced industry.
Emphasis is placed on developing effective communication, data analysis, and problem-solving skills. Students use their marketing knowledge and skills in decision-making situations with the goal of developing effective solutions.
For some students, continuing on for a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at Mount Mercy is their next step. MMU Plus is specifically structured to help you transition into graduate work, letting you take up to four graduate courses at no extra cost.
Build off previous experiences by transferring up to 75 credits form an Iowa community college or up to 93 credits form a regionally accredited 4-year university.
Veterans may also earn credit for military training via the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES).
Mount Mercy offers competitive tuition and generous scholarships.
We also encourage all students to apply for federal, state, and other kinds of financial assistance.
